State-run oil exploration giant, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) rose 3.24 per cent to close at Rs 876.80 on reports that the company is in talks with UK's Imperial Energy Corporation (Imperial) to form an alliance, which could include buying a stake in the latter.
